Understanding-Your-Homes-Energy-Use

One popular myth about saving energy is that all you have to do is adjust your thermostat and use your HVAC system less. While it’s true that running your heat and AC requires a lot of power, it’s only responsible for about 48 percent of your energy bills each month. Using a programmable thermostat can make a big difference but there are other ways you can reduce energy waste and save money. Upgrade to energy efficient appliances and televisions and switch to LED light bulbs. Make a habit of turning off the lights when you’re not in a room and unplug everything you can when it’s not in use. You can also update to smart bulbs that allow you to program lighting throughout your home and reduce energy waste. Finally, consider limiting screen time, since gaming and television use can make up a large portion of your power bill.
